Marketing
As part of the marketing team, you’ll be involved in making sure we’re selling magazines at the newsstand and bringing our brands to life. Whether it’s innovative packaging ideas for our magazines or eye-catching gifts for our covermounts, your job will include the planning, research and delivery of these promotions.
You’ll also work to coordinate a range of activities designed to keep Future’s products centre stage and maximise sales, such as house ads, PR, direct marketing, sponsorship and online activity.
Circulation and Trade Marketing
Working with the Circulation team means you’ll be responsible for ensuring our magazines are being sold in the appropriate retail outlets, driving sales through the understanding of target consumer groups and developing strong relationships with our distributors, wholesalers and retailers.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
By keeping a database of our known customers (magazine subscribers, online subscribers, registered users or newsstand buyers), we can increase the value of our sales to these groups by actively creating and building a relationship with them. Using the data to understand trends, customer behaviour and marketing opportunities, you’ll be looking for ways to cross-sell, provide better customer services, and generally keep the customer for longer.
Subscriptions Marketing
When a reader takes out a subscription to one of our magazines, it can save them money and make it easier for them to get their favourite read each month – it also makes great business sense for Future. You can be part of this process in one of two teams: an Acquisitions team, where you’ll focus on generating new subscriptions on our magazines, and a Retention team, where you’ll be responsible for retaining as many subscriptions as possible every year, and for as long as possible.
You can also be involved in direct marketing campaigns across a wide range of media, including page adverts, in-magazine inserts, telemarketing, direct mail and email campaigns, and online. In the course of that, you’ll be developing third-party relationships, affiliate marketing and market testing.

Market Research
The Market Research department is all about information, be it about our brands, readers, industry or more. We have access to a wealth of information, which we mix together to promote Future as a media owner. Working in this area means you’ll be conducting research that includes, for example, reader surveys, or secondary research into launches and acquisitions. As part of the Ad Marketing team, you’ll be making the research accessible to our clients and the industry for commercial applications.
Marketing Services
A job with the Marketing Services team means that you’ll need to deliver timely, accurate and actionable information to other internal users. Turning circulation and export data into information is crucial for our publishers to make informed strategic and tactical decisions, which have a real impact on the bottom line.
Awards and Live Events
If you fancy getting out of the office, you’ll get the chance to be involved in working to raise the profile of our magazines among reader communities. That means taking our brands to live events and meeting our wide and varied audiences. Our readers are passionate about their interests and our events give them that extra dimension – from auto events to stitching shows, games awards to music shows, you’ll be front-of-house, giving our readers a great time and showcasing our brands directly in the market.
